Value for money.

Value for money. Beautiful beach. Very comfortable bed! Good meal & drinks.

Even daily tips didn't help to make a cleaner to clean our room better. Insects in the room. It's quite noisy in the evenings because of the restautrant nearby.

Very nice and comfortable stay in Varadero.

The best is big and extra comfy. The room and bathroom very nice and clean. The location is very close to the beach. A/C and warm water all day. Wifi in common areas of the hotel. There is also an all-inclusive option to buy which is recommended for short stay.

The breakfast was poor and could have been better. There were insects in the room; found two cockroaches in the bathroom. There is also a club nearby and it was not easy to fall asleep at night due to the noise.

Good, but could of been great...

Coffee, food were better than I expected since cuba’s got a bad rep I didn’t go in with high expectations. Everything was to my liking. I liked that I could upgrade to all incluside at Quatro Palmas (4* sister resort between us and the beach) for $25cad more a day.

I booked online and confirmed with a booking.com agent that I was getting a two double bed room. When we got there me and my friend had to share a bed and go out of our way to request a new room. They gave us a new room the next day but then we had to pack up, check out at 12pm and check back in at 4pm. This was a nusance. Starfish Las Palmas has three different buildings. The first and biggest houses the cafeteria, checkin, wifi zone. The two others are across and down the street. There’s no mention of this when booking. I would hsve preferred to be in the main building and to know that my booking was actually not in the main complex. The hotel didn’t sell bottles of water. Just one complimentary bottle at check in. This was annoying as we had to go out of our way to bring back water to our room daily for drinking and brushing our teeth with.

Good location & good wifi signal in reception area.

Unfriendly staff, dirty rooms. It was not clear that this is only a separate & inferior hotel to the main one across the road. There are no facilities at this hotel - only a breakfast service in the morning. It costs an additional 35$ per person, per day, to get use of swimming pool and bar at main hotel. The room was really dirty - walls & bedding. Avoid if possible. I'd recommend booking a Casa Particular in the area. Will have better food, conditions and will be cleaner.

towels contained some dirty spots, however it is an issue everywhere on Cuba

The room was big, confortable and clean. The location is good and the acess to the beach is fantastic.

- when we arrived the receptionist wasn't friendly and not helpful. Only explained the facilities in very short sentences. - when we arrived to the room, after 5 hours trip, we had to wait more than half an hour for towels in order to have a shower. - the food at hotel was poor. A lot of variety but it wasn't delicious at all.

I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone because of the really bad and rude personal.

Close to ocean but every place in Varadero has that anyway....

A long review because it was a lot of bad things at this hotel: At the check-in the personal was kind but gave almost no information. There was no book in the hotel room with information either. We we're living at the Bed and Breakfast part and bought the all inclusive for two days. We were 5 persons in 3 and in our room the curtains were totally broken and it looked really bad. In the other room there were A LOT of ants! On of us got bad stomach (after only eating at the hotel, and it never happened anywhere else in Cuba. We we're in Havanna, Trinidad and Sancti Spiritus as well). When the cleaning staff came the first question was "Have you been drinking?" - That's extremely rude! The buffé at the big hotel was ok, but nothing special. They should focus on doing one thing good instead of having a lot of half bad dishes. The personal in the big restaurant was mostly kind but the last day they handed out papers for reviews and suddenly they acted really weird. One guy came to our table every 5 minutes asking if we wanted anything else even though we had everything we needed and how important it was that we filled in the papers. After half of our dinner we had to really tell him to stop. Weirdest experience ever. The breakfast at the B&B was smaller but the problem was the personal. We sat down and for some reason the just ignored us. After 15 min I walked up to them and said "Can you please come and help us?" Then he just said "You have to sit under the roof". We sat 1 meter away from the roof, so we had to move otherwise no service. You can't just ignore customers like that. It's their job to give us this "super important" information, not the other way around. The coffee here was awful by the way. Some of the bar personal was both good and kind, some was only kind to those who tipped them well. The first day we sat in the big reception waiting for our friend.

I would recommend this hotel for its central location and comfort in the room !

They gave me a quiet room as I had read that the music from Beatles Bar goes on till 3am ! So I was very grateful !

I couldn’t use the facilities of the Main hotel unless I upgraded to ‘all inclusive’ which is a bit mean as this hotel had no facilities at all except a breakfast area ! The cost was reasonable so I did upgrade and it turned out ok !

We stayed for 6 days. The hotel was very clean, a maid every day cleaned our room and kept it tidy. The breakfast was a buffet with a collection of fruit, pastries, meat and bread, with coffee/tea or eggs on offer. The location was really good, only 2 minutes from the beach. The photos provided before we stayed are a good representation of the real thing.
